How Much Water Do I Really Need A Day?

When working out what Waterboy pump is best for you, one of the most important questions you need to answer is how much water do you need a day. 

Some clients will call and ask us to recommend a pump but they arent quite sure how much water they actually require.

The best way to work out how much water you need a day is to work back wards. Work out what your end goal is (filling a tank, watering 30 cattle, irrigating a paddock, transferring water from one tank to another) and then work back wards to see what you really need.

Please also consider when working out how much water you need a day:-

How big is your tank? How fast will it be emptied?

Have you considered a tank full / pressure switch assembly? This will only ask the pump to work when your tank falls to a certain level and needs to be refilled.

How many stock animals are you watering (please visit our stock calculator located under calcultors)

How much water the bore/well is producing a day and the replish rate.
